General terms and conditions for cooking and baking courses, seminars and other events by Sound of Taste, Kathrin Schwarz, as of 01/29/2023

1. Scope

The booking of cooking courses, seminars and other events (company events or private cooking events) with Sound of Taste, Kathrin Schwarz, is based on the following terms and conditions.



Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz) offers cooking courses and seminars as well as individually bookable company events and private cooking events. Under professional guidance, the participants are taught a wide variety of topics. Cooking classes usually last 1.5 to 3.5 hours. The number of participants for cooking courses is usually 8-12 people. The duration and number of participants in the other events booked may vary depending on the type and implementation.


3.Booking cooking classes

If you book a course, the booking becomes binding immediately upon purchase. Please note that bookings made by telephone or in writing by e-mail are only regarded as an offer and may be rejected if the desired course is already fully booked. After checking your booking, you will receive a booking confirmation from us as well as an invoice for the total amount of your booking. Payment is due immediately.


4. Booking corporate events or private cooking events

To conduct a cooking class for private or corporate events, a minimum of 8 people or a total of 1,050 Swiss francs must be paid. If the group consists of less than 8 people, the minimum amount of 1,050 Swiss francs must still be paid. If the group consists of more than 8 people, the price per person will be charged. For example, a cooking class costs 170 Swiss francs per person. If there are 8 people, the total price is 1,360 Swiss francs.


Prices for cooking classes and seminars through the websitewww.soundoftaste.chare offered must be paid in Swiss francs. The prices of the cooking courses include: cooking under professional guidance, the self-cooked food, drinks, aprons and the recipes that are handed out. Prices for corporate events and private cooking events are available on request. For company events, the minimum number of participants is 8 people or a total of 1,050 Swiss francs. A minimum of 8 participants or a total of 1,050 Swiss francs is also required for private events.

6. Cancellations/refunds private customers (individual bookings via the homepage)

No refund or voucher can be issued for cancellations within a week of the start of the course unless a medical certificate or proof of death is provided. In this case, a full refund or a voucher will be offered. Please note that there is no cancellation fee for cancellations up to 14 days before the start of the event and a cancellation fee of 100% is charged for cancellations less than 13 days before the event. Nominating a substitute participant releases you from the cancellation fee.


7. Rebookings

A rebooking, outside the cancellation period, of an already booked course to another date is possible and will be charged with a processing fee of CHF 10, provided that the date is free for the kitchen."


8.Cancellation of corporate events and private cooking events

In the case of cancellations after the order has been confirmed, 15% of the purchase price is due immediately. For cancellations up to 90 days before the start of the event, 30% of the purchase price is due. For cancellations up to 60 days before the event date, 50% of the purchase price is due. For cancellations up to 30 days before the event date, 75% of the purchase price is due. Less than 30 days before the event date, there will be no refund and 100% of the purchase price is due.

9. Cancellation by the organizer 

If a cooking course or seminar does not reach a minimum of eight participants, the organizer (Kathrin Schwarz) has the right to cancel the event in question up to 24 hours before the start of the course. Other reasons for a cancellation by the organizer are force majeure or a sudden illness of the cook. The participant will receive a voucher for the course fee already paid and can transfer to any course free of charge.

A further claim for damages is excluded - unless the damage was caused intentionally or through gross negligence by the organizer or a person for whom the organizer is responsible. If there are public regulations that make it impossible to hold the events in the form planned at the time of registration (e.g. due to epidemics), the organizer reserves the right to cancel the event as well.



If a participant cancels the course or is unable to attend after registering and paying the participation fee, there is no right to a refund of the participation fee or the total amount. Instead, the participant can nominate a substitute participant or receive a voucher for another course.


11.Registration and Participation Policies

The reservation of the participant places for cooking and baking courses takes place in the order of the written registrations, which are legally binding. Bookings can be made through the booking system or by email tohello@soundoftaste.chbe made. Bookings that have already been paid can be transferred to other people, provided they have not already booked the course in question. A written notice tohello@soundoftaste.chis required.


12.Procedure in general

In a relaxed atmosphere, I warmly welcome you to my Dirndl kitchen and will be happy to serve you a glass of Austrian sparkling wine. If you don't prefer alcohol, you are welcome to choose a non-alcoholic drink, which is also available.At the beginning of the course we start with a theoretical block and then we go into practice together. During the course, water and non-alcoholic drinks are always available for you to enjoy at any time.

As a native of Styria, I naturally have a few stories and anecdotes to tell from my homeland. Together we will prepare a delicious dish and then we will enjoy it together or you are welcome to take it home in your own transport box. The course lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on the booking of the respective course.



The duration of the cooking courses is usually 1.5 to 3.5 hours. It includes the introduction, preparation and preparation of the dishes as well as the shared consumption during cooking.


14. Clothing Participants must ensure that they wear appropriate clothing when cooking. Aprons are provided on loan by Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz).


15.Health Advice

Due to the use of induction hotplates, people with cardiac pacemakers may experience interference. Please inform us before the course starts if you have a pacemaker so that we can provide alternative hotplates.

Please also note that there may be a significant amount of heat generated during the course due to the cooking and baking. We recommend that you wear appropriate clothing.

Please also note that there may be different food uses during the course. We ask you to inform us in advance of any food intolerance. If you do not inform us about such incompatibilities, Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz) cannot be held liable.


16.House Rules

It is imperative to follow the instructions given by Kathrin Schwarz in the course and to strictly comply with the house rules. Please note that the course location is a strictly non-smoking location and smoking is not permitted on the premises. Any violation of the house rules can lead to the immediate termination of the course.



Participation in the cooking courses and events of Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz) is at your own risk and is booked in your own interest. Kathrin Schwarz assumes no liability for accidents, loss or damage to objects of the participants. Kathrin Schwarz's liability is limited to intent and gross negligence, in particular to damage to life and limb. The participants are liable in accordance with the statutory provisions for damage they cause in the course rooms and for damage caused to other participants through their direct actions. Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz) assumes no liability for any damage caused by the handling of kitchen utensils, allergies or other unforeseeable damage and accidents. It is recommended to have personal liability insurance. In the case of cooking courses with underage participants, the parents are liable.


18.Privacy Policy

When booking cooking courses and other events at Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz), personal data is collected that is used exclusively for internal purposes and is not passed on to third parties. The participants agree that photos and video recordings can be made during the events, which the organizer may publish on its own website and on various online platforms and social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and others. All relevant data protection regulations are taken into account. Further information can be found in our data protection declaration.

19.Privacy Policy

Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz) collects and stores personal data as part of course booking and event planning. The data will only be used for our own purposes and will not be passed on to third parties, unless this is necessary to fulfill the contract or there is a legal obligation to do so.The participants agree that the organizer may take photos and video recordings during the courses or events, which may be published on their own website and on various social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz) takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data and to secure it against loss, misuse and unauthorized access. The provisions of our data protection declaration apply, which can be viewed at any time on our website.

20. Jurisdiction

Swiss law applies to these General Terms and Conditions and all contracts concluded with Sound of Taste (Kathrin Schwarz). The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes in connection with these terms and conditions and contracts is Basel, Switzerland.Sound of button
